Other Depictions of the Man of Sorrows
Christ of the Passion, usually wearing the crown of thorns. The title "The Man of Sorrows" is taken from Isaiah 53:3, one of the so called "Servant Songs". Since Christ appears at the mass of St. Gregory as the Man of Sorrows, these two subjects ("The Man of Sorrows" and "Christ Appearing at the Mass of St. Gregory") are closely
related.
