The Poisoned Wine

The legend of St. John the Evangelist's late days in Ephesus says that being ordered to drink a cup of poisoned wine, he made the sign of blessing, and the venom was miraculously drawn from the liquid. The cup (chalice) is a prominent attribute of John.
