Artist's comment: "There is no cross in this painting. The victorious Savior is all that needs to be pictured. His hand is raised ready to give the final signal to get on with the battle. Heaven’s armies wait to ride with Him. The sky separates revealing the Savior of Revelation 19. Out of His mouth is the “sword” symbolized by the stream of breath. His robe is “dipped in blood.” On His head are crowns. His eyes are flames of fire. The Revelation passage says that on His thigh He has this name written: “King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” Instead of actually having writing on his robe, I decided to have the passing clouds form the Hebrew letters of those words, tying in with the Psalm that say, “The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1)."
