Images on Christ Project. Under ownership of The Anglican Church of Sussex, Sussex, England. Artist's comment: "This second interpretation of the Lost Son is quite removed from the first version. This painting is about the road home. The Father is standing midway with arms out-stretched, the symbol of the cross is evident in representing Christ. The viewer must understand that he or she is the lost son in this painting, or the piece has no depth or relevant point to it. The coloration of the road goes from dark to light, a symbolic truth as one comes to their senses, from darkness to the light. One also feels waves in the road and on the horizon symbolizing Christ walking on the water to the disciples. Again the sun, as is typical in the exhibition represents God the Father, through the Son, to the viewer. There is an influence of the California painter, Robert Dieberkorn in this painting. The manner of use of color and freestyle application are very similar. "
