Notes: Host's comment: "“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Ephesians 6:16. As a Christian, battles will come. God has given His children weapons though to fight those battles and win. In Victory, the weapons portrayed in the woman’s hands are the “shield of faith” and the “sword of the Spirit” (Eph. 6:16-17). They may be invisible to the naked eye, but nonetheless real and potent. As she stands firm with her weapon’s drawn, her attacker cowers away. She has won!" Artist's note: "The Christian life can be likened to walking up an incline. Jesus called it “the narrow road.” Along the way are many opportunities and temptations to stop or at least to become distracted. Our potent enemy, Satan, has littered our path with every stupid, pleasurable, and deadly thing at his disposal. Too often we fall for the “apple” he offers. We rationalize that it’s just “kid’s stuff” or that we’re exploring what’s out there. But Eve found out that it’s much better to avoid getting ensnared than to try to get out of the trap. Many of us adults have learned this same, hard lesson. The only way to avoid the pitfall is to arm us against that attack of the enemy."
