Host's comment: "Under His Wings serves as the perfect reminder that God has promised to take care of us. In the painting, the girl is simply going about her day playing outside and picking flowers. Note though that the girl isn’t worried or troubled. Perhaps she knows she is taken care of. Taken directly from Psalm 91:4, DiCianni uses the wings to show that God is keeping her safe. Though they are invisible to her, they are as real as the flowers in her hand. What a beautiful tribute to God’s promise that we can always find refuge in Him."
Artist's note: "What a great picture of God! As a matter of fact, it is a promise from God. Psalm 91:4 says, “He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge.” The metaphor God uses to convey His protection and care for us is illustrated here in this painting. Of all the sanctuaries that hold out their welcome to us, none should be as inviting as the one God promises. Under His wings no storm of earth or hell can touch us."
