Notes: Host's comment: "Ask any farmer and he will tell you that there is a right way and a wrong way to plant seed. When Christians talk about “sowing the Word,” they are talking about a process much more important than simply growing crops. The Sower gives viewers a visual illustration of Mark 16:15, which is the true sower’s motto, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” Ron DiCianni created The Sower to stand as a reminder to every Christian that simply making “small talk” is not good enough. We need to plant the Word of God deep within the heart every unsaved friend and family member." Artist's note: "In this painting, a young man is sowing the Word of God into another young man. Notice how perilously close the unsaved companion is to walking to the edge of the cliff. Such is the everyday reality for the unsaved. In the past, those sowing seed would put their hands into a bag and sprinkle it on the fertile ground. Today, modern methods have replaced that. Likewise, in times gone by, sharing the Gospel used to be one individual to another. To a certain extent, technology has tried to change that too. Personally, I don’t think it has worked better than a one-on-one approach. Perhaps its been better stated by a friend of mine named Bob Kilpatrick who wrote a great song called, “Won By One.” Isn’t that the truth?"
