Notes: Host's comment: "“Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, ‘If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, the servant of all’” Mark 9:35. Greatness. The very word has a ring to it. There isn’t a person alive who doesn’t want to achieve greatness in some form or another. Where many people get it wrong is over the way to achieve greatness. The Servant vividly depicts the concept of greatness as Christ washes the feet of a modern day businessman who is trying to achieve greatness through the wrong means. Look at Christ’s definition – He said a person who chooses to serve is great." Artist's note: "I couldn’t think of a more dramatic way to show the opposite of greatness than a businessman in his office surrounded by the trappings of “success.” Surely he’s got it made, right? He’s arrived! Not quite. When Christ comes into view, He again demonstrates the servant’s posture to the chagrin and humiliation of the man. Just as He did to His own disciples, Christ reminds us of what a great person looks like. Will we follow?"
