Notes: Host's comment: "ďConsider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.Ē Luke 12:27. Jesus put the whole of life in perspective when He told us to observe the lilies. They are so beautiful and yet they donít work or fret for their existence. Even though they are lower than us on the scale of importance in Godís eyes, God cares for their every need. How much more then does the Creator care for us, His most prized creation? Sometimes we forget that God is our provision, just as He is for the lily. Consider the Lilies strikingly shows Jesusí hand reaching down to the lily Ė showing all that if He cares for them, how much more will He care for each of us." Artist's note: "Frankly, I am tired of trying to make things in life work for me. Iíd much rather take Jesus up on His gracious offer. This small painting reminds me that it was Jesus who offered us the example of the lily as a guide to living. It isnít just wishful thinking or fanciful hope given to us by a well wisher. The One who made the lily and us offers us the rest we all look for. Rest from the wear and tear of life that destroys us, little by little, which God never intended for us to carry in the first place."
