Notes: Host's comment: "“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall here my voice.” Psalm 55:17. Quite simply, He Shall Hear My Voice is Psalm 55:17 shown in art. It gently offers the message that regardless of the time of day or night, when we pray and cry out to the Lord, He is there to hear and listen. One of the most striking aspects of this piece is that the viewer cannot quite tell the location or what time of day is being captured in the brushstrokes. That is precisely the point of this piece, God’s ability to hear our prayer and our ability to pray to Him is universal and is unaffected by location or circumstance." Artist's note: "The model in this painting is my wife (a great help and inspiration to me in so many ways over the years). Not that she is any holier than most, but I have seen her on many occasions begging God for an answer to prayer. Tough times are a part of life, and let’s face it, we all need to go to our knees for the help that can only come from the Lord. The painting itself was done rather quickly, and I felt at the time that it truly was one of those “God things” – the paint just flowed, and ended up in all the right places. The popularity of this painting over the years has certainly confirmed my feelings about that, and as always, “To God Be the Glory.”"
