Host's comment: "The divine character of God in all of His infinite beauty and eternal mercy has never been more misunderstood than when we were taught that His fatherly heart was so untouched by the misfortunes and sorrows of his creatures that his tender mercies were not forthcoming until he saw his blameless Son bleeding and dying upon the cross. I can no longer hide behind "His ways are not our ways", to justify attributes of a Holy Creator that are beneath even the most basic morals of those who have been created. The Kingdom of God will languish and its people will suffer until these erroneous and primitive ideas about angry gods striking men down in mythic barbaric wrath are replaced with the truths about our loving Heavenly Father. Jesus has always loved us with the Heavenly Father's love. That is the same love that allowed him to smile at the repentant thief while dying on the cross of Calvary over 2000 years ago."
