  Artwork: She turned to him
  Artist: PARSON, Del
Notes: Artist's comment: "Mary Magdalene was the first person to whom Jesus appeared after His Resurrection from the dead. This was the greatest event in the history of the world and was witnessed first by a woman. Her life had been transformed when she turned to the Lord, and she was very special to Him. Nothing hurts as much as the loss of a loved one, and Mary Magdalene was grieving when she came to the tomb on what would be the first Easter morning. Her friend had been put to death only days before. When she visited His grave and found it empty, she feared that someone had taken His body. In her agitated state of mind, she heard a man's voice, inquiring why she was crying and asking whom she was seeking. Thinking it was only the gardener, she turned to him, and instead, beheld the living Christ before her. This was the moment that represented the fulfillment of all of His promises to His followers, and Mary Magdalene was overcome with joy."
