Host's comment: "As a beautiful illustration of the accessibility of God, The Touch displays a woman reaching out to touch Christ’s garment. Like the woman of old who touched Jesus’ garment and was healed, man today has the same access to God – to His healing, His blessings, His forgiveness, and His love. All we have to do is summed up in the title of this painting… reach out and Touch. Luke 8:43-48.
Artist's note: "The woman in my painting is a modern one. She symbolizes our questioning and questing generation. She stepped out past the crowd and came before the One who had the real power – Jesus – the same One who still has it today and whose pleasure it is to use it for all who come searching in his name. You will only find out for yourself how easily accessible that power is when you need to reach for His hem."
