  Artwork: Last supper, The
  Artist: SLAVUJAC, Darlene
  Date: 1993
  Technique: Oil on canvas
Notes: Host's comment: "The flame of the oil lantern in the upstairs room flickers as the wind sweeps over the puzzled faces of the eleven remaining disciples reclining on couches (as was the dining custom) at the Passover table. At the back of the room, Judas, the twelfth disciple slinks out into the night to complete his act of betrayal. Athough the imminent events and sacrifice which soon follow are part of His Father's ultimate plans for all mankind, Jesus the God-man, must have felt saddened to be leaving His beloved disciples at this moment in time.(Read Mark 14:23-25, John 13:26-30 and 1Corinthians 11:25)"
