  Artwork: Peace
  Artist: FALK, Alan
  Date: 2002
  Technique: Watercolour
  Location:
Notes: Isaiah 60:18. Artist's comment: "This work is based on a quote from the prophet Isaiah (60:18): "'Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise." The watercolor depicts (in the background) the walls of the fallen city Jerusalem with the prophet/sage (left) postering towards the foreground figure on the right - a mother (Holocaust victim - note the yellow 'Jude' star symbol) holds her infant child. An angel enfolds them holding a sphere in which is seen a gate (a rebuilt Jerusalem) and the word "Peace" (in Hebrew)."
