From the "St. Albans Psalter", created at St. Abans Abbey essentially by Geoffrey de Gorham (or Gorron), Abbot of St. Albans (1119-46). Psalms 139:8f.: David is crowned and wearing wings: "If I take my wings early in the morning." He points up to one book with the caption: "If I ascend into Heaven you are there." Christ looks out from above. He also points down to a second book with the caption: "If I descend into hell you are present." Christ looks up from the pit.
