From the "St. Albans Psalter", created at St. Abans Abbey essentially by Geoffrey de Gorham (or Gorron), Abbot of St. Albans (1119-46). Psalms 116:3f.: The central figure carries his own naked soul on his back. He is being attacked by four men who stone him. He points to the caption: "O Lord deliver my
soul."
