From the "St. Albans Psalter", created at St. Abans Abbey essentially by Geoffrey de Gorham (or Gorron), Abbot of St. Albans (1119-46). Psalms 20:1, 9: The holy man in the centre, distinguished by the cross on his hat, addresses Christ on the left: "Hear us in the day that we shall call upon you." He points to David, crowned and with knees bent in supplication on the right: "Lord save the king."
